As part of Nakheel’s continuous drive to be at the forefront of innovation, we would like to introduce the recently formed team unit Innovation and Emerging Technologies.

Established in March 2023 and led by Ahmad Darwish Ali, Associate Director, Cybersecurity and Innovation, this team is under Corporate Services and IT. It aims to oversee the transformation from an innovative perspective, focusing on various specialties where the latest technology can be applied to fuel innovation, drive advancement and foster improvements at Nakheel.

Primarily, innovative technology is key to preparing our organisation for the future – a future where Nakheel is a leader within the technology realm.

The Innovation and Emerging Technologies team will evaluate and test new innovative technologies to be integrated into the Nakheel framework. 

As such, the unit would focus on Smart cities, communities and offices, Internet of Things (IoT), Energy Management, Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Emerging Technologies, ChatGPT, XR (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Reality Capture), 3D printing, Building Information Modelling (BIM), low code/no code software, Generative AI/large language models and much more. 

To keep other business units at Nakheel updated with their latest updates, the Innovation and Emerging Technologies team will hold workshops on a periodic basis for colleagues interested in technology. You will also receive regular updates with helpful tips and tricks that you can apply to your daily work.

The Innovation & Emerging Technologies Unit is proud to introduce the ‘Inspire Innovation Club’, dedicated to organising live sessions that aim to spark creativity, facilitate knowledge sharing, and encourage cross-functional networking on a periodic basis. Keep an eye out for communication via Inspire with details on the club, how to join and events to look forward to.
